Hawks do Top Gear

To link in with our electricity topic in science, Mrs Cox showed us around her electric car. We all had a go at sitting inside, and she explained to us how she needs to charge it, rather than filling it up with petrol or diesel. I think some children were disappointed that they couldn’t go for drive too!!

Hope and Glory

Kestrels loved visiting the new additions to the HG Farm this afternoon…

Kestrels in Brighton

Sorry it has taken so long for any Kestrels news to appear on our Year 2 Blog! Mrs Stewart has been waiting for her new username and password to be able to login.

We had a wonderful time in Brighton last week and were so lucky with the weather. Luckily all of the children managed to protect their lunch from the pesky seagulls! We hope you enjoy our photos…

Meeting Hope and Glory!

We enjoyed meeting the gorgeous new additions to Holme Grange this morning. The children thought that Hope and Glory were very cute 🙂

Brighton

We had a fantastic day yesterday in Brighton. We started of with an interesting workshop in the Sea Life Centre about animal food chains. We then enjoyed exploring the centre, to look at all the different sea life. After that, we walked over to the beach to our lunch in the beautiful sunshine. We finished off with a walk along the pier.

It was a fab trip and a few children even said “this is the best trip ever!!”

Have a lovely weekend.

Maths Fun

We enjoyed using the iPads in Maths today 🙂

The New Hawks

Welcome to Year 2!!

The Year 2 children have settled in really well. They enjoyed sharing their scrapbooks with their friends, and talking about all the exciting things they did during the holidays!

Our own Great Fire of London

We had a fantastic morning creating our very own Great Fire of London…. It was a super way to finish of this topic. The children have loved learning all about the Great Fire and have been very enthusiastic. Thank you for providing all the cereal boxes!

See you tomorrow (How is it the end of the year already?!)

Kestrels last forest school

This afternoon I enjoyed my last Forest School session with the Kestrels. We’ve had a fabulous year together and it has been fantastic watching them display all the Holme Grange Learning Habits at each and every session.

Kestrels, you are a fabulous, creative, crazy bunch of children. It’s been a pleasure to work with you. Enjoy year 3 and work hard!

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

We had a wonderful afternoon at our Teddy Bear’s Picnic. Mrs Harling made us some delicious food which included sandwiches, tomato and basil rolls and jam tarts. We finished off with some lovely stories read by our Pre-Prep prefects.

Have a lovely weekend
