Rangoli Patterns

To link in with Diwali, we enjoyed making our own Rangoli Patterns using natural objects.

Autumn Art

Mrs Poland took us outside in art today. We looked at all the different shaped leaves, and then chose one to sketch in our lesson.

Sandwich Making

In literacy, we made jam sandwiches to help us with our instructional writing. We all enjoyed making them but the highlight was definitely being allowed to eat them at the end of the lesson!!

Have a lovely weekend 🙂

Royal Albert Hall

I second what Mrs Stewart said. A fantastic trip and what an experience for us all 🙂

Visit from Rabbi Zvi

Thank you very much to Rabbi Zvi from the Jewish Community of Berkshire who came in today to tell us all about the Jewish festival of Sukkot.

Hawks do Top Gear

To link in with our electricity topic in science, Mrs Cox showed us around her electric car. We all had a go at sitting inside, and she explained to us how she needs to charge it, rather than filling it up with petrol or diesel. I think some children were disappointed that they couldn’t go for drive too!!

Meeting Hope and Glory!

We enjoyed meeting the gorgeous new additions to Holme Grange this morning. The children thought that Hope and Glory were very cute 🙂

We had a fantastic day yesterday in Brighton. We started of with an interesting workshop in the Sea Life Centre about animal food chains. We then enjoyed exploring the centre, to look at all the different sea life. After that, we walked over to the beach to our lunch in the beautiful sunshine. We finished off with a walk along the pier.

It was a fab trip and a few children even said “this is the best trip ever!!”

Have a lovely weekend.

Maths Fun

We enjoyed using the iPads in Maths today 🙂

The New Hawks

Welcome to Year 2!!

The Year 2 children have settled in really well. They enjoyed sharing their scrapbooks with their friends, and talking about all the exciting things they did during the holidays!
